Norfork BONUS - Wilson-Dillard High: A Supernatural Investigation, pt. 1

Dear Mrs. Domal,

We are delighted to have Izzy as a part of Troop 12, she has shown a real commitment to the Norfork Scouts and attends each meeting with enthusiasm that is infectious to the other Scouts. However, her recent written application for the "Supernatural" badge (which we are admittedly still hammering down the details for) included some worrying content we thought you should be made aware of, especially given you family history. I've included an excerpt below, with some of my own emphasis on the wording that concerned me and the other troop leaders the most. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and we can discuss further details.

"...of course, my research says the best ghost-hunting location is obviously the place where the person whose ghost it is died. I also learned that ghosts don't really like to be around people (and who can blame them, we can eat all kinds of delicious things while they basically just have to watch and think to themselves "wow that looks so good". Plus I'm sure that they have people that they miss, and being around them all the time would probably just make them too sad). So, I thought to myself, maybe there's somewhere in Norfork where people died! People die all the time, so the chances that there was somewhere I could go ghost-hunting locally were pretty high. I found a copy of a government subpoena online and - using the skills I had acquired with my "Photo Manipualtion & Collage" badge - I changed some of the wording and submitted a copy to the local records office asking about the location of deaths in Norfork in the last 50 years, and directing them to a secure email server I'd set up as part of my "Cybersecurity & Internet Safety" badge. It turns out way more people than I even thought die! But I narrowed it down to deaths caused by accidents, murder, etc because I didn't think that probably anyone's grandma would want to stick around as a ghost just because. Most of the locations were private residences, and that was a non-starter, but buried deep in the files I found one that mentioned an accidental death at Wilson-Dillard High (if you're reading this and you aren't from here, that's the old high school in Norfork), though it didn't specify where exactly in the school the death happened. Most of the examples in the "Supernatural" badge listing were just things any old Scout could bring in, but because I'm using the "Supernatural" badge to advance to role of Lightning Captain I knew I needed to find something special..."

All the best,
Stewart Earluy, Scoutmaster (Troop #12)
